How it works…
The Subscription
Purchase a monthly subscription or gift a single box to a friend (or yourself)! Each box includes your book, your choice of one or two 12 oz. bags of award-winning Black Butte Gold coffee from Sisters Coffee Company or 2 oz. bags of tea from Suttle Tea, and occasionally some extra bookish swag. ALSO, every 6 months we’ll also ship you a bonus box with one of our favorite paperback books!
Subscribe by the end of the month to receive the following month’s box. Shipping is always free!
The Books
Every month we hand select three new releases that we’re especially excited about, then we send you an email so you can pick which title you’d like included in your box! Each book featured in our lists is hand selected from among thousands of titles that are published each month. Some might destined to be bestsellers or be from authors you recognize, but there will be plenty of great titles from indie presses and we’re sure you’ll discover some new authors, too! We emphasize diverse, global, and underrepresented voices – but above all else, these are books that we believe in and stories that deserve to be shared.

Books we believe in and stories that deserve to be shared.
You may be wondering, “Why should I trust these folks to pick my books?” Good question! Our picks aren’t generated by an algorithm or based off of what’s popular at the time. Each book is hand selected by Lane Jacobson, the owner and book buyer of Paulina Springs Books in Sisters, OR. The store has been a community fixture for 28 years, and Lane has been a buyer for close to ten.
He’s a co-founder of the American Bookseller Association’s Diversity Task Force, he sits on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association, and he reads…a lot. So, needless to say, he knows his books. Each book selected for the box is one that he is excited about, believes in, and would definitely be putting into your hands if you were to swing by the store.
But with all that said, what if one of these books just didn’t do it for you? That’s okay! Each subscription comes with three free exchanges per year. You can check out details on exchanges here.
Behind the Beans
